Evaluation Procedure  

Primary School - V 

The will be no Assessment tests for Classes PS to PP. These Classes will be assessed through their everyday work. Continuous evaluation of each subject will be taken according to EEDP checklist. It will help in developing the habit of regular, systematic and methodical work among the students

For classes I and II assessment will be based on 4 cycle tests where as for class III to V assessment will be based on four Cycle Tests and with an addition of 5 marks which includes oral test, project observation and various other activities. 

Skill tests to evaluate students on G.K., Computers, Art, Vedpath, P.T., Dance Music, Conversation, will be conducted twice a year. 

To motivate and encourage students to do their best in test, marks have been allocated for scoring poor marks, grading system on five point scale will be used (Scale Given). No consideration will be given to absent students (If no prior information is given) while calculating the aggregate percentage and allotting grade.

  • Each Formative Assessment will include tasks/activities etc. which will be assessed out of 10 at the end of each FA. Each and every activity/assignment/task/project work contributes to their final assessment.
  • It is mandatory to appear in both Summative Examination, during assessment year.
  • Assessment will be indicated in Grades.
  • Every student is required to get a qualifying grade D or above in all the subject as per guidelines for promotion to next class.
  • Each Formative Assessment will include tasks/activities etc. which will be assessed out of 10 at the end of each FA. Each and every activity/assignment/task/project work contributes to their final assessment.
  • It is mandatory to appear in both Summative Examination, during assessment year.
  • As per CBSE updates, SA2 will includes one value based question of 3 - 5 marks.
  • Every student is required to get a qualifying grade D or above in all the subject as per guidelines for promotion to next class.
  • Only one attempt will be given to the students getting E1 or E2 grade in scholastic areas in one or more subject to obtain qualifying grade D in these subjects. Failing to do so, he/she will be required to repeat the same class during next Academic year.

Overall performance of your ward s based on the achievement n the Scholastic as well as Co-Scholastic areas are as follows: 
Under Scholastic area, Grades will be upgraded to the next higher grade in one or two subject as per the total Grade points achieved under Co-Scholastic area as given below.

Initiation of Problem solving Assessment (PSA) for class IX and XI in second Term. 


The features of the CBSE-PSA will be as follow:

  • It will be compulsory for all students of Classes IX and XI and carries 90 marks. There will be 60 items of MCQ type.

  • There is no specific syllabus for it. It will assess the following areas : Quantitative Reasoning, Qualitative Reasoning, Language Convention.

  • The items will incorporate – Creative Thinking, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving and Communication.

  • The Assessment in language will contain items that will assess grammar, usage vocabulary in context and passage-completion.

  • The items will be designed in such a way so as to improve the generic and higher order thinking skills.

  • The CBSE-PSA will be done during the month of Jan - Feb 2014.

  • The score of CBSE-PSA will be reflected in one language (English or Hindi), Mathematics, Science and Social Science as the case may be in FA4 for Class IX and Class X.

  • The students will have the option to improve their PSA score in Class X, as they can sit for the test with Class IX students of the session 2013-14. The best scores will be reflected in the final certificate in case of those applying for improvement.

  • The students of class XI will be issued certificate from CBSE.

  • There will be no separate time table or period for teaching or practice of PSA in school.

  • Introduction of Value based questions in the design of Q-paper in all major subjects in classes IX-XII. 
  • The Board has also decided to assess students for 5 percent weightage in each subject at the Summative Assessment level in Class IX to XII through questions which will be integrated with content of the subject and analyzed on the basis of the value it reflects.


EVALUATION PROCEDURE (For Classes XI - XII)

  • Promotion in the next class will be on the basic of overall performance in cycle test, terminal exam and annual examination.

  • Pass %age in all subjects with theory and practicals is 40%.

  • Retest will be given in two subjects only.

  • Retest report card will be given after the clearance, along with the promotion remarks, in the respective space provided.

  • The students who will opt for additional subject, will have to take all tests & examination for reflection of marks in Report Card.

  • Date Sheet for practical exam will be intimated in the class.

  • Absence without prior sanction of leave, during tests/examination will be strictly dealt with.

  • 75% attendance is mandatory to take all examinations.

  • Any change in the above schedule, will be notified through school's website/circular/note in school diary.
